CIRCUL8TION & FLUERE FRAMES

What a Bristol venue actually earns from its wall

Every venue owner asks the same two questions in the same order. What does it cost me, and what do I get?

The first answer is nothing. We buy the screen, we fit it, we maintain it, and if it breaks we replace it. There is no rental, no contribution, no minimum term fee.

The second answer takes longer, so here it is written down properly.

The share is 15% of net advertising revenue

Net advertising revenue means the gross advertising revenue attributable to your screen, less VAT and less payment processing fees. That is the whole definition. It is deliberately narrow.

What is not deducted before your share is calculated:

  • the cost of the screen
  • the installer
  • the mounting, the cabling, the power work
  • our software, our staff, our overhead
  • de-installation, if you ever want it gone

Those are ours to carry. If we have a bad quarter, that is our problem, not a smaller cheque for you. This is why the share is on revenue rather than profit — you cannot audit our profit, so a profit share would be asking you to trust a number you have no way of checking. Revenue attributable to your screen is a number we can both see.

What the screen is actually selling

A Circul8tion screen runs a loop. The loop is split three ways:

TrackShare of the loop
Commercial advertising60%
Your own content20%
Art and utility (Fluere Frames curation)20%

That middle row is the one venue owners tend to miss. A fifth of the screen is yours, permanently, at no cost. Your Sunday roast, your quiz night, your new opening hours, the band on Thursday. It runs all week. We do not sell that fifth to anyone and we do not charge you for using it.

What advertisers pay

Venues are graded into four tiers, and the tier sets both the loop length and what a local advertising slot costs per month.

TierLoopLocal slotsMonthly rate
Hyper-Local2 minutes5£175
Community Anchor3 minutes8£225
Premium Destination4 minutes10£275
Flagship Local5 minutes13£350

Your tier is set by measurable things — footfall, dwell time, the value of the surrounding location — not by negotiation.

You can do the arithmetic yourself from those two tables, and we would rather you did than take a projection from us. A screen that is not fully sold pays you 15% of what it did sell. We are not going to print a number on a poster and call it your income.

Paid quarterly, and why

Host payouts run quarterly. Artist payouts, on the art side of the business, run monthly. Those cadences are different on purpose: art sells as individual transactions that can be reconciled quickly, whereas advertising revenue is billed on monthly campaigns that need a full cycle of delivery and reconciliation before a share can be honestly calculated.

A quarter is the first point at which the number we hand you is one we can stand behind.

The term

Three months from installation, then rolling with 30 days’ notice from either side, no reason required.

We took the twelve-month term out because it did not protect anything worth protecting. What protects an advertiser’s delivery is the size of the network and the substitution rights in their own contract, not a venue that has been trapped. And a venue that wants out but cannot get out becomes a venue that stops caring what is on the screen, which is worse for everybody.

If you want it gone, we take it down at our cost, and any revenue accrued to that point is still paid to you in the next quarterly run.

We are not live yet

First screens go in on 1 October 2026, in Bristol, indoors. There are no live screens today and no advertisers running today. Everything above is what we are contracting to, not what we are reporting.

We are choosing the first venues now, and we would rather talk to people who have read this page than people who have sat through a pitch.

If you have a wall that is doing nothing, send us a photo of it. We will mock it up and show you what it would look like in your room. That costs you nothing and you keep the image whatever you decide.
